Planning furniture design in a virtual environment

0 9

When planning an interior design change for one or more of your rooms, the first thing you should consider is your own life style, needs and dreams. The space needs to feel “yours” to be able to have the feel-good factor. Of course, you can hire an interior designer for this task. A professional will be able to ask you the right questions to be able to determine what would suite you and he will most likely use an advanced software to simulate what your rooms will look like.

However, some of you don’t want to outsource the design planning and are willing to do everything themselves. We saw incredible layouts put together by non-professionals who have that bit of imagination and taste, you can do it too. But you need a little help.

When planning an interior design, there are countless hours spent searching, documenting, studying and comparing. Many of you, after finding a piece of furniture they truly love, close your eyes and imagine how it would look like in your home. What if we told you might use a software similar to the ones used by interior designers to be able to visualize the room and get rid of the “Will it fit?” emotions. That’s great, isn’t it? But wait, there is more: they are free!

There are many programs that will transform you into a semi-professional designer and one of them is the Ikea Home Planner.

This software is very easy and allows you to create your floor plan and virtually fit any piece of furniture or decoration. It will also calculate the price and generate a shopping list for you to take into the store.

There aren’t many free solutions to do this, but you may want to check out Homestyler as well. This is also user friendly and it doesn’t require any previous know-how. All you have to do is drag and drop. Another viable option would be HAVERTYS Room Planner.

Have fun planning!
