Times are changing, everything evolves, but one thing remained the same: little girls still picture themselves as princesses. If you have a young daughter who dreams to be a Disney princess, it won’t be long until she asks you to decorate her room to look like it’s from a fairy-tale. Well, it’s not that complicated and we are going to help with some ideas so you don’t have to call your real estate agent to buy a castle. So how to decorate the princess room?
The canopy bed
A canopy can totally transform a child’s room. First, it provides the space with a lot of personality, and second, kids love hiding and improvising secret places to play. On a more practical note, a canopy will also keep the insects away and dim the strong morning light.
The carriage bed
Equally spectacular is the carriage bed. It will be a perfect place to rest and play. Also, it will spark your child’s imagination.
The castle bed
Please see the picture below to find out how you can have a castle, a bed, a slide and a bookcase – all in one item.
Colors and accessories
Make sure pink is the predominant color and use accessories that remind you of the royal crown. The furniture should be simple, functional, and age appropriate, so the children can have easy access to everything they are allowed to use/hold. You don’t want your little princess to climb some massive royal furniture and be exposed to all sorts of dangers, do you?
To emphasize the fairy-tale atmosphere, find a small table and “dress” it into a tulle-skirt. Don’t forget to place the (toy) tea service on top of it and, from time to time, pretend you are drinking from that ridiculous small cup. Even if you are a man!
And what kind of kingdom would it be without any inhabitants. Make sure your precious daughter has plenty of dolls and teddy bears to rule over.
