Do you need a correspondence table you can place in an unused corner? Do you also need some more storage space, but you’re not willing to invest to much? Well, there is a solution! It’s really cheap, easy and you can find the materials at your grandma’s or in the garage.
First, you’ll need a vintage suitcase. The more ancient it is, the better the effect will be. After this, find an old chair or table (basically, anything with four legs). Arm yourself with glue, nails, hammer and paint and you’re ready to go.
If the suitcase you found is red, a simple chair painted in the same color will suffice. The resulting table can be used to support a lamp, as a night-table or correspondence table. You also get some storage space (inside the suitcase), but, as it might get frustrating to keep moving the things on top of it, we recommend storing only items you don’t need that often: maybe photos, your yearbook or stamp collection.
Did you find a old french-style chair? Clean it thoroughly and paint it white. If you also have a grey or white suitcase, you can create a wonderful table for your plants!
You need a black suitcase, some metal support (metal chair or even a ladder) and a colored, cheerful object to place on top.
These are just three ideas for you to consider. It all comes down to your imagination and what you can find in your garage. Also, if you like the style, there are plenty other furniture pieces you can create to coordinate with your furniture like, for instance, these shelves:
