When choosing the style of your home interior design, you need to consider several factors: lifestyle, family, personal taste, influence, knowledge you acquired in your travels etc. In any case, the one thing you have to achieve is a design that represents you. This entails the state of comfort that you should have at home. It wouldn’t hurt to take into consideration what type of personality you have. Are you a romantic, a dreamer or, on the contrary, are you a very practical person?
Remember, an interior design must always be in concordance with the architecture of the space.
This style beautifully combines rounded lines and relies on the personality of each furniture piece. Usually, these furniture pieces are more ornamented and built from solid wood. The sofas and chairs are upholstered with complex and repetitive motifs, usually floral.
Since we are talking about large, ornamented, pieces, we don’t recommend the classic style for a small house or a flat. This type of design is suitable for mansions that won’t seem cramped by all that massive items.
In modern decorated rooms, you are likely to find either dark and strong colors (black, brown, red) or, on the contrary, light colors (cream and white). Contrast is also characteristic for this style. We are talking very little decorations and a rather minimalist style. Designers use straight lines, corners and rough edges, when it comes to design, and a lot of metal and plastic when it comes to materials.
The main purpose of the furniture is not to be a great decor, but rather to be as functional as possible. This style is appropriate for both large or small residences.
The down side is that modern designs are becoming “not so modern” and get out of fashion really fast. However, modern designs are cheap and usually built modular, so it’s not that hard to make a change.
