The attic – the perfect playroom

0 350

If you live in a house with an attic, it could be that mysterious place where you parent have stashed hundreds of memories but also things that have no utility whatsoever. Well, perhaps it is time you collected all those items, stored them into a smaller space and use the free space to put together a playroom.

You have to start with the correct assessment of the room. Usually, the height is not very generous because the roof structure may not be even. These thing shouldn’t scare you; a suitable furniture, proper use of the natural lighting and intelligent usage of every square inch can do wonders.

The attic may be the perfect place where you can play your favorite video games. Order a simple furniture, that can be embedded into the wall and is adaptable to the irregular shape of the room. Buy a large monitor or LCD/LED TV and make sure that the light is coming from the right. Last, but not least, make sure you have a comfortable sofa and enough armchairs or bean bags. You may want to spend your time here surrounded by friends or siblings.

The attic can very well serve as the perfect place for you to watch your favorite movies or listen to your favorite music. Cushion the walls for high quality sound and also to make sure you do not disturb your neighbors or other people living in your household. Mount the TV directly onto the wall. The sofa and the armchairs will be the highlights of this room.

If you want something more sophisticated, you can install a projector on the ceiling and a projection screen instead of the TV set. If you also buy a modern sound system, you can have your very own movie theater.

If the space allows it, you can also purchase a pool table.

The attic doesn’t often get the deserved attention since it is almost always considered not very functional and hard to decorate. All you need is the will to do it and a little inspiration from articles like the one you just read.
